The International Aeronautical Federation 2024 World Drone Racing Open will be held in Keqiao, Shaoxing
On the afternoon of December 18th, the press conference for the International Air Transport Union 2024 World Drone Racing Open was held in Beijing. At the meeting, it was announced that the 2024 World Drone Racing Open will be held on December 29, 2024 at Jianhu Scenic Area in Keqiao District, Shaoxing City. Feng Qing, Director of the Sports Department Three of the Aviation Radio Model Sports Management Center of the General Administration of Sport of China, Ren Hongliang, member of the District Committee and Minister of Propaganda, and representatives from more than 30 media outlets attended the event.
The International Aviation Federation 2024 China Drone Racing Open is hosted by the International Aviation Federation Model Committee, the Aviation Radio Model Sports Management Center of the General Administration of Sport of China, and the China Aviation Sports Association. It is jointly organized by the District Education and Sports Bureau and Zhejiang Jinkeqiao Cultural Tourism Group Co., Ltd. It is another drone racing event held in China for the first time after the World Drone Racing Championship. The open competition lasts for 4 days, and the track is designed and built with the iconic building "Rongguang Bridge" as the main body. The total length of the track is about 500 meters, with about 35 obstacles set up. Athletes, coaches, assistants, referees, and international organization officials from 30 countries and regions will come to participate.
During the event, Keqiao will simultaneously design "Sports+" themed events, including the 2024 World Drone Racing Open FPV Drone Exhibition, 2024 E-MACH Drone Simulation Racing Championship, 2024 China Keqiao Low altitude Economic Investment Annual Conference, 2024 China Drone Racing Sports Development Annual Conference, and Flyer New Year's Eve Party. The event will comprehensively integrate drone sports projects, showcase the unique cultural charm and fashionable vitality of Keqiao District, and bring an unprecedented "cultural tourism+low altitude" feast to citizens and tourists.
As a strong cultural and tourism district, as well as a strong sports district, in August 2024, Keqiao became the first city in Zhejiang Province to host the China Drone Racing League, and drone racing events sparked unlimited enthusiasm in Keqiao. Keqiao will take this event as an opportunity to actively explore new models of integrated development of culture, sports, and tourism, continuously expand the influence of the "Lao Shaoxing Jin Keqiao" urban cultural brand, attract more investors and tourists to Keqiao, drive the development of local tourism and related service industries, and build a more diverse and high-quality cultural and tourism industry chain. At the same time, Keqiao will take the event economy as a breakthrough, effectively integrate domestic UAV resources, give full play to the advantages of rich "low altitude" resources and broad application scenarios, establish a low altitude economic industrial chain with the event brand as the core, build a pilot demonstration zone for low altitude economic development, and inject new momentum into the creation of a Chinese path to modernization county model.
