Shanghai Fengfei Aviation Technology Co., Ltd., from the East China UAV Base in Jinshan, Shanghai, made the global debut of the V400 Albatros, a 400 kilogram large vertical takeoff and landing intelligent aircraft, at the exhibition.
The drone is independently developed by Fengfei Aviation Technology, with a body length of 6.67 meters, a height of 1.11 meters, a wing span of 9 meters, and a wing area of 4.66 square meters. As a vertical takeoff and landing intelligent aircraft, its maximum takeoff weight is 400 kilograms, maximum payload is 100 kilograms, and maximum takeoff altitude is 5000 meters. There are two power versions to choose from: the pure electric version has a full load range of 300 kilometers, and the hybrid version has a full load range of 1000 kilometers.
The V400 Albatros adopts a duck shaped layout design, and the entire body uses carbon fiber composite material integrated molding technology, which is lighter in weight. The entire body adopts a three-axis layout. In terms of safety, the drone not only has an 8-liter 2-thrust multi redundant control system, multi redundant flight control system, and ground radar assisted takeoff and landing function, but can also be equipped with a complete parachute to ensure flight safety to the greatest extent possible.
At the global launch event, Fengfei Aviation Technology also unveiled its corporate strategic plan for the first time, focusing on the layout of large intelligent logistics aircraft and "air rental" autonomous manned aircraft as the main products, building an air logistics operation system and a three-dimensional air travel mode, and creating future urban air mobility (UAM).
After the release of V400 Albatross, it will be mainly used in express logistics, emergency material transportation, medical rescue, and fire emergency situations, especially in mountainous and island transportation scenarios, which can save a lot of time and have obvious efficiency advantages. For example, from Jinshan in Shanghai to Dongji Island in Zhoushan, the entire journey used to be 300 kilometers by car and ship, which took 5 and a half hours on the road; If V400 Albatros is used as the "logistics courier", the straight-line distance can be shortened to 140 kilometers and delivery can be made in just one hour. If transporting materials from Ya'an, Sichuan to Litang County in the western mountainous area, the traditional car and ship travel a total of 430 kilometers, requiring a long journey of 10 hours. After the albatross appears, it flies in a straight line for 250 kilometers and can complete the task in just 1 hour and 45 minutes.
