Innovation in Practice: Bringing Fiber Optic Drones with Electronic Interference Failure to the Battlefield

9555

Fiber optic guided unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are connected to operators through fiber optic cables to transmit control signals and video data, rather than relying on traditional radio frequencies to control UAV flight.

At present, the operating principle of fiber optic guided drones entering the battlefield is to use fiber optic as a safe high broadband connection, which can transmit feedback videos and control signals in real time, avoiding traditional radio frequency interference or GPS countermeasures, enabling operators to remotely and safely control drones, thereby avoiding the opponent's use of various anti drone electronic interference, especially radio frequency interference tactics. It has incomparable advantages over current drones that rely on GPS and radio frequency signals. In addition, some fiber optic cables can even directly provide power to drones, which means that drones do not need to worry about the onboard battery capacity and can fly further, achieving long-range strike operations.
