The Chinese team won the runner up in the team category of the 2024 World Drone Racing Championship

The 2024 World Drone Racing Championship ended in Hangzhou. The Chinese team won the runner up in the team group, while 12-year-old Bai Xize won the runner up in the individual and youth groups.


In the final, all pilots must fly three laps on the track and rank based on their total time. In the individual group final, South Korean pilot Kim Min sung and teammate Kim Min jae entered the final together, while the other two pilots were Yuki Hashimoto from Japan and Chinese player Baek Hee taek. In the final, the drones controlled by Kim Min chen and Kim Min zai collided while crossing obstacles. In the end, Yuki Hashimoto won the championship, Baek Hee taek won the runner up, and Kim Min jae and Kim Min chen ranked third and fourth respectively.


The top three pilots in the individual group are also participants in the youth group, so they also won the championship, runner up, and third place respectively in the youth group.


Bai Xize, who is currently in sixth grade of elementary school, said that everyone competed together and felt the atmosphere was very good. He performed at 90% of his level and wants to become the world's number one in the future.


Chinese pilots Luo Yimeng and He Yutong advanced to the women's finals, facing Italian pilot Luisa and Thai pilot Wanraya. At the beginning of the competition, two drones controlled by Chinese pilots collided while crossing obstacles and withdrew from the championship race. Afterwards, Wanraya also made mistakes. In the end, Louisa completed the flight and won the championship, with Wanla Ya, Luo Yimeng, and He Yutong ranking second to fourth.


As the individual finals ended, the team results were finally announced, with South Korea, China, and Japan finishing in the top three.


Feng Qing, Director of the Sports Department Three of the Aviation Radio Model Sports Management Center of the General Administration of Sport of China, said that several pilots of the Chinese team have performed very well, which is already the best result achieved by the Chinese team in the World Championships.
